| sp |
dc.description.abstract | We are a summary of the Cosmos. An interview with the amauta Maximiliano Flores In the interview, Maximiliano Flores, a member of the indigenous Aymara nation and an amauta recognized by the indigenous university of Cuyahuani (Bolivia), questions the Western understanding of Andean philosophy and the universality of human rights in Western perception. His statements reflect the previous exchange between him and philosophers Josef Estermann (University of Luzern, Switzerland) and Michael Schulz (University of Bonn, Germany) during the activities of the Summer School 2021 Human Rights in Latin America: between universalism and provincialization. The amauta addresses topics such as local political organization, the indigenous struggle, intercultural education, the perspective on Aymara women and the defense of territory in Bolivia in reaction to previous discussions and questions from the participants. The interview was conducted by participants of the Summer School. During the editing process, an imaginary exchange developed between co-editor Carolina Ilaya (also of Aymara origin) and the interviewee, which is included as comments. | en |
