Food security of farmers and workers is often an overlooked issue in sustainability certified global supply chains of agricultural and biomass-based products. The Food Security Standard (FSS) adds the aspect of food security to sustainability standards for local production sites in food-insecure countries. It is an initiative of the Center for Development Research (ZEF) of the University of Bonn, and the NGOs Deutsche Welthungerhilfe e. V. and WWF Germany. The FSS provides practicable and measurable criteria to protect the Right to Food of farmers and workers and local food security. The following compilation contains the results of the accompanying research for the FSS, as well as the core publications of the FSS Project.
