dc.description.abstract | The Clinical Relevance of the Humane Boca Virus: two single center studies and a matched pairs Analysis The humane Boca Virus (hBoV) was first discribed in 2005 and had been connected with lower respiratory tract infections in children ever since. This publication tries to study the clinical relevance of this virus for pediatric patients by preforming a retrospective and prospective studie with together over 600 patients. The hBoV positive tested patients where matched with RSV positive tested patients in a matched pairs analysis. The results show strong evidence that an hBoV infection is not less or more serious than a RSV infection. Because RSV infection is seen as a serious infection for pediatric patients, hBoV infections may have an important role for this patient group too.
