El origen de la argolla peruana y la evolución de un discurso sobre la exclusión social Nureña, César R. In Peru, the term argolla went from being just a way to designate an elite segment in the 19th century, to concentrate nowadays a vast range of meanings, referring to closed groups in any field, but also types of relationships, attitudes, behaviors, problems, cultures and even native theories on the abuse of power. This article examines how this proliferation of meanings occurred, in relation to certain sociopolitical changes in Spain and America in the 17th to 20th centuries.; En Perú, el término argolla pasó de ser solo un modo de nombrar a un segmento de la elite en el s. XIX, a concentrar hoy un vasto rango de significados, referidos a grupos cerrados en cualquier ámbito, pero también a tipos de relaciones, actitudes, conductas, problemas, culturas y hasta teorías nativas sobre el abuso del poder. Este artículo examina cómo se produjo esta proliferación de sentidos, en relación con ciertos cambios sociopolíticos ocurridos en España y América en los siglos XVII al XX.

Avocado-Toast and Drug Cartels Tuitjer, Friederike In recent years many Latin-American foods have become popular globally as “superfoods”. This article analyses the popular discourse in Germany (ca. 2015-2019) and its ambiguities around one of them: Avocado. On the one hand avocados are considered emblematic for the “millennials” and are embedded in a vague discourse around health and sustainability. On the other hand, their production causes negative ecological and socio-political impacts in the main production area, the Mexican state of Michoacán.; In den letzten Jahren haben viele lateinamerikanische Lebensmittel als „Superfoods“ weltweite Popularität erreicht. Dieser Artikel analysiert den populären Diskurs und dessen Ambiguitäten in Deutschland (ca. 2015-2019), um ein lateinamerikanisches „Superfood“: Avocado. Einerseits gelten Avocados als emblematisch für die „Millennials” und sind in einen vagen Diskurs um Gesundheit und Nachhaltigkeit eingebettet. Andererseits verursacht ihr Anbau negative ökologische und soziopolitische Folgen in ihrer Hauptanbauregion, dem mexikanischen Bundesstaat Michoacán.

Zugehörigkeiten junger Menschen im translokalen Raum Brietzke, Anna Sophie In diesem Artikel analysiere ich auf Basis ethnographischer Daten, wie junge Menschen aus El Salado ihre Zugehörigkeiten in einem translokalen Raum konstruieren, empfinden und reproduzieren. Dabei wird ein Zusammenspiel von Mobilität, Translokalität und Zugehörigkeiten sichtbar: Zum einen ist Mobilität eine Voraussetzung für das Entstehen eines translokalen Raumes, zum anderen entstehen erst durch die Mehrfachzugehörigkeiten der Menschen die flows, die den translokalen Raum stetig neu konstituieren.; In this article I analyse, based on my own ethnographic data, how young people from El Salado construct, sense, and reproduce their belonging in a translocal space. An interplay of mobility, translocality and belonging becomes visible: On the one hand, mobility is a condition for the emergence of a translocal space. On the other hand, it is the multiple belongings of people that create the flows which constantly reconstitute the translocal space.
