La destrucción de objetos culturales desde la biografía de objetos

Abstract

Este artículo discute la destrucción de objetos culturales basándose en la metáfora de la biografía de objetos. Para discutir el rol de poder y control en el contexto de objetos culturales y su protección, han sido tomadas en cuenta varias convenciones internacionales. Después de presentar tres ejemplos de Europa y las Américas, correspondientes a la destrucción de objetos, se buscará reflexionar acerca de los Derechos de los Pueblos Indígenas sobre las prácticas de protección, preservación y destrucción de objetos culturales.

<strong>The destruction of cultural objects from the biography of objects: Considerations on heritage control and indigenous peoples’ rights</strong> <br> This article discusses the destruction of cultural objects by referring to the metaphor of the biography of objects. In discussing the role of power and control in the context of cultural objects and their protection, it considers various international conventions. After presenting three examples of the destruction of objects from Europe and the Americas, an attempt is made to reflect on practices of protection, preservation, and destruction of cultural objects.
