La defensa del Consejo Comunitario de la cuenca del Río Yurumangui

Abstract

En la Cuenca del Río Yurumanguí vive un pueblo afrodescendiente que llegó al pacífico colombiano en condiciones de esclavitud durante la época colonial. Desde entonces, ha estado desarrollando y viviendo una realidad propia acorde a su historia y contexto, la cual, desde hace déécadas, se ha visto profundamente afectada por el conflicto armado colombiano. Este artículo estudia el rol de la memoria como herramienta de defensa del territorio frente a las amenazas a las que se enfrenta el pueblo yurumanguireño.

In the Yurumangui River lives an Afro-descendant community that arrived on the Colombian Pacific coast under conditions of slavery during the colonial period. Since then, they have been developing and living a reality shaped by their history and context, which has been deeply affected by the Colombian armed conflict for decades. This article examines the role of memory as a tool for defending the territory against the threats faced by the community of Yurumanguí.
