ZEI Future of Europe Observer, 2020, Vol. 8, No 2

Abstract

In the European Parliament's nomination hearing, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, postulated that the EU needs to learn the language of power in order to be competitive at the global level. In this issue of the ZEI Future of Europe Observer, our ZEI Master of European Studies-Fellows “Class of 2020” comprised of students from 13 countries, analyze how the EU can live up to this ambition. The articles were written prior to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in Europe.

In der Nominierungsanhörung des Europäischen Parlaments hat der Hohe EU-Vertreter für Außen- und Sicherheitspolitik, Josep Borrell, die Auffassung zum Ausdruck gebracht, dass die EU die Sprache der Macht lernen müsse, um auf globaler Ebene konkurrenzfähig zu sein. Doch wie kann die EU den Anspruch einlösen? Hierzu haben wir unsere internationalen ZEI Master of European Studies-Fellows "Class of 2020" gefragt, die in dieser Ausgabe des ZEI Future of Europe Observer zu Wort kommen.
