dc.description.abstract | This thesis explores the immune mechanisms activated during SARS-CoV-2 infection across different disease severities through a comprehensive multi-omics approach. It specifically emphasizes the role of peripheral monocytes, investigating their programming during infection using bulk RNA-Sequencing. Additionally, the study delves into the development of antibodies in response to both infection and vaccination against the virus. Through single-cell RNA sequencing, it further deciphers the immune pathways activated in various immune cells within peripheral blood. This research provides valuable insights into the complex immune responses to SARS-CoV-2, connected to low interferon response, antigen presentation and highly pro-inflammatory state of severe COVID-19 patients. | en |
