| en |
dc.description.abstract | This doctoral thesis focuses mainly on the synthesis and crystallographic characterization of known and novel lithium-3d-transition-metal phosphates. These quaternary compounds count to the promising candidates for cathode materials for lithium-ion-battery. The quaternary systems Li / M / P / O M: FeII, CoII, NiII, CuII und CuII) were investigated for the first time. The derived phase relations show in particular for the system LiO0,5 / CoO / PO2,5 strong temperature dependence. The complex thermal behavior of Li4Co(PO4)2 and Li2Co3(P2O7)2 was examined using HT-XRPD and DTA/TG . The phase relations for Li4Co(PO4)2 were clarified. Three phases with composition LixCuIxPO4 were discovered along the quasi-binary system CuI3PO4-Li3PO4 (phase 1 with 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.7; phase 2 with 0.9 ≤ x ≤ 1.8; phase 3 with 2.0 ≤ x ≤ 3) discovered and studied using SC-XRD. Phase 1 and 2 are isostructural to HT-Li3PO4 and LT-Li3PO4 respectively. Lithium-copper-phosphates, phase 3, crystallize in the same structure as CuI3PO4 and belong along with phase 1 and 2 to the zincite structure family. The metastable copper(I)-orthophosphate was obtained by quenching. The oxidation state of copper was confirmed by using 31P MAS-NMR-spectroscopy. The preliminary electrochemical tests on Li2,05CuI0,95PO4 show promising results. Electron spectroscopic investigations show that the trigonal-bipyramidal chromophore [CoIIO5] dominates the absorption spectra of dichroitic Li5,81Co5,1(P2O7)4. UV-VIS-NIR-reflectance spectroscopy allowed to determine values for ligand-field splitting, Racah parameters and nephelauxetic ratio for the mixed crystals LiZn0,55Co0,45PO4 and LiZn0,86Ni0,14PO4 with tetrahedral chromophores [CoIIO4] and [NiIIO4]. Interpretation of the reflectance spectrum of Li2CuII5(PO4)4 required the modeling of electron states for chromophores [CuIIO4+n] within AOM framework. The consideration of anisotropic π-interactions in terms of a "second-sphere ligand field effect" is crucial for a good agreement between calculated electron transfer energies and experimental spectrum. | en |
